Walking the Edge: Art from Our Borders and Boundaries
Posted by Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education on January 31, 2023
The Schuylkill Center presents Walking the Edge, a communal display on the experience of walking in nature. We are inviting the creative public to share their impressions, reflections and encounters on walking borders, limits and perimeters in nature as they are expressed in creative artworks. Curated by and in collaboration with Jacques-Jean Tiziou of “Walk Around Philadelphia“, the Schuylkill Center’s fourth bi-annual community exhibition embraces walking as a practice in contemporary art production that reflects on our interconnectedness with nature.
The show opened on January 26, 2023 and will run through April 1st.
Walking the Edge is an exhibit about our borders and boundaries and what we encounter when we set out to explore the world around us on foot. The work of over 100 artists will be represented.
Location: Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education, 8480 Hagy’s Mill Road, Philadelphia, PA 19128
There are many other ways to plug in: several in-person & virtual events as well as ten days of facilitated walks around the city’s entire perimeter in conjunction with the 11th Walk Around Philadelphia.
