America Walks Accepting Applications for Community Change Grants
America Walks believes that walkable communities lead to improved safety and health for community members of all ages, abilities, genders, and backgrounds and engages community members in work to create safe, accessible, and enjoyable places to walk and be physically active.
To that end, the organization currently is accepting applications for its Community Change Grants program, which awards micro-grants of up to $1,500 to projects that help create healthy, active, and engaged places to live, work, and play. Funded projects should increase walking and the benefits of walkability in communities, work to grow the walking movement by engaging people and organizations new to the effort, and take steps toward creating a culture of inclusive health.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the America Walks website.
Deadline: November 2, 2018
