Job description
Esperanza has an immediate opening for a full-time Vice President, Development that would lead, develop, and drive the implementation of our strategic development plan. This is an executive level position with Esperanza and will be part of our core leadership team.
Driven by the biblical mandate to care for “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40), Esperanza is the nation’s premier Hispanic faith-based organization with a national network of 13,000 Hispanic clergy, congregations, and nonprofits.” Esperanza is committed to raising awareness and identifying resources that strengthen the Hispanic community.
The Vice President, Development ensures achievement of the fundraising goals of Esperanza through planning and execution to support the growth and expansion of the organization. This position will lead the efforts in the design and implementation of a comprehensive and strategic development program, including major and planned gift donor development, grant writing, fundraising events management, and the annual fund campaign. This position will operate strategically and actively participate with the Executive Team and Board Members in the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of Esperanza’s major donors or donor prospects.
The successful candidate will have 10+ years of demonstrated leadership experience in development and fundraising. Experience working with multi-faceted appeal campaign planning, implementation, special events, and management is required. Experience in grant writing and grant management is required. Experience using Raiser’s Edge and Kintera/Sphere or comparable software is preferred.
BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
