Voter ID Law: What Your Campus Needs to Know
Posted by on July 02, 2012
Join PHENND for an important discussion of Pennsylvania’s new Voter ID bill which will require first-time voters, many of whom will be students, to show a photo ID at the polls in order to vote.
Friday, July 27, 1-3 PM
at the PHENND Office, 3624 Market Street, Suite 5W
One of the major issues is whether standard school-issues IDs will be sufficient. Either way, campuses should start thinking about how to educate their students for a successful election experience.
We will be joined by Ellie Esmond, of Bryn Mawr College, where they plan to issue new IDs to all students as a response to Voter ID, as well as by Jorge Santana, of City Commissioner Stephanie Singer’s Office. Kenn Marshall, Media Relations Manager of the PA State System of Higher Education will also join us via skype.
To RSVP, email Hillary at hillarya@pobox.upenn.edu or call 215-573-2379. Please RSVP by Tuesday, July 24 so we can have enough lunch for everyone.
