Sunday Suppers seeks volunteers
Conceived in October, 2010, the mission of Sunday Suppers is to strengthen the health and well-being of families through the transformative power of family meals.
Sunday Suppers provides tangible support to families so that they can make enduring lifestyle changes such as incorporating more fresh foods into their diets, eating together more often, and integrating healthier cooking methods. It believes these behavioral changes will positively affect health issues such as obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
Suppers are served every Sunday and include fresh vegetables, lean proteins and seasonal fruits. The meals include familiar ingredients, introduce healthy alternatives, and incorporate fresh local food. They are served family style on tables with tablecloths, fresh flowers, china, and silverware. At the end of the meal, each family leaves with all the items and recipes needed to create another family meal thereby providing the means for families to replicate Sunday Suppers in their own home.
The group needs volunteers every Sunday from 5-8pm to help with serving dinner, cleaning up and dishwashing. To sign up, go here.
