Southwark Elementary School Needs You This Fall! JOIN TEAM DRAGON!!
Southwark Elementary (at 9th and Mifflin in South Philadelphia) may open in September without crucial support staff.
Southwark’s new principal, Andrew Lukov, has created Team Dragon, a group of volunteers who will provide assistance during the first week of school (September 9-13) greeting students and parents, answering phones, assisting with registration, helping in the hallways, teaching cafeteria rules, etc.
IF YOU HAVE TIME DURING THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 9-13, PLEASE VOLUNTEER FOR TEAM DRAGON!
If you are not available the first week of school, and/or want to volunteer at Southwark on a regular basis during the school year, the Southwark Superhero! will be the school’s ongoing strategic volunteers – serving as reading buddies, math tutors, instrumental music support, library aides, and more.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Beth Dougherty, Chair of the EPX Education Committee, at [email protected], or 215-280-2027.
All volunteers will need to have a PA Child Abuse History Clearance and Criminal Reference Check completed.
East Passyunk Crossing Civic Association and Town Watch will provide information and support in getting these clearances.
