volunteers needed, Rescue Purrfect

Posted by Rescue Purrfect on September 19, 2016

Rescue Purrfect are a 501(c)3 non profit no kill cat rescue. It is our directors dream to make a lasting impact on the lives of the animals in our community as well as the community members themselves. With over 100 volunteers with various backgrounds and passions we are well on our way to making that dream a possibility.

Unlike many rescues, we are housed within a 501 c3 non profit wellness clinic. This allows us to keep medical costs of our animals at a minimum while providing low cost (and sometimes no cost) care for community pets as well. We are also able to be more of a community resource as we have partnered with other rescues, animal hospitals, schools, community groups as well as political offices which allows us the ability to assist or fund 100% of the people who call us looking for help.

As a rescue and clinic we not only maintain and feed our own rescued cats who are up for adoption, but we take care of hundreds of feral animals in the community as well as offer food to low income clients whose hearts are in the right place. We are currently using most of our volunteers resources to help us become a funded food bank so that we may meet the giant needs of the public. We are also set apart from rescues with our community outreach. We are currently in the process of conducting “Read to the Cats” programs for younger children to get involved at the rescue. This program will educate children on proper handling of animals, what to do if there are feral cats in their community, as well as talk about animal abuse and how to handle these incidents Education will happen on site at the rescue and children will have a chance to not only socialize our cats but help them find forever homes in various ways such as posters, videos, flyers etc.

Currently we are in need of volunteer vet techs (we are able to help meet course hour requirements.) Volunteers for TNR projects, Marketing help, Media, Fundraising, Grant writing Shelter construction, general carpentry for rescue, newsletter writing, data entry,as well as some one to lead educational workshops. Please contact our volunteer coordinator if you are available to help! Bevvarallo@thebridgeclinic.org or 267-481-4007
