PHILLY PLAYS SCRABBLE
Volunteer Position Description
Beginning October 2006 the Free Library of Philadelphia in conjunction with its partnering sponsors ASAP & Verizon, will be hosting a city wide Scrabble tournament. Volunteers will assist branch staff in the hosting and management of the scrabble games. Volunteers will greet contestants, serve as time keepers, record keepers, and serve as rules referee. This is a great opportunity for scrabble game lovers to indulge others in a great game and encourage literacy and vocabulary building in the community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Volunteers in this capacity must be a self starter and customer service oriented.
TRAINING, ORIENTATION AND SUPERVISORY PLAN:
The Volunteer Services Program Staff and a representative from the Philadelphia Scrabble Association will provide the training and orientation for all volunteers. Library staff will supervise the volunteers.
