Volunteers Needed, Philabundance Seasonal Gleaning Program
Posted by Philabundance on June 30, 2014
Looking to get your hands dirty, all while fighting hunger?
Gleaning is the practice of harvesting leftover crops from a farmer’s field. Currently in its 3rd year, the Philabundance seasonal gleaning program connects volunteers and our neighbors in need of food in the Delaware Valley with our local agricultural community. Volunteer events take place at our partner farms in South Jersey and involve the harvesting of excess crops. The work is outdoors, physical, and an excellent opportunity to connect with our local food system. Volunteers ages 8 and over are welcome to join!
A full listing of our seasonal gleaning volunteer opportunities can be found here: http://aginitiatives.philabundance.volunteerhub.com/Events/Index
If interested in joining us for a glean, please contact Rachel Hoh at rhoh@philabundance.org or (215) 339-0900 x 1261!
