Volunteers Needed: NUAD Violence Prevention Program

Posted by Neighborhoods United Against Drugs on September 20, 2022

There are hundreds of men and women who are caught up in a vicious cycle of crime and violence that are desperately trying to see a way out. This lifestyle is too often what they see as their only means of survival. The biggest barrier keeping many of them from getting a good job is because illiteracy has become their biggest obstacle. It has been reported that as many as 75 percent of the men in prison for serious crimes like aggravated assault and murder have illiteracy issues. Neighborhoods United Against Drugs (NUAD) is looking for volunteers to help tutor individuals enrolled in our violence prevention program who want to change their behavior and become positive productive members of society.

For more information feel free to email Joe Purnell at josepurne@aol.com or call at 215-954-8942. A few hours of your time working with these individuals will help change the lives of numerous individuals and their families.
