MLK365 sponsors Norris Square project
Norris Square Neighborhood Project is a community- driven, bilingual learning center that provides the Norris Square community with quality youth programs including after-school childcare, a summer day camp and leadership development, programs supporting and empowering neighborhood women, and community gardening/neighborhood beautification efforts. The organization maintains six gardens celebrating Puerto Rican and African culture.
On Saturday, June 27th, NSNP volunteers will have the opportunity to help get the gardens, located on the 2200 block of Palethorp Street, ready for summer. Duties will include clearing debris from garden lots, preparing soil for planting, transplanting plants, weeding, working on raised beds, preparing soil for row farming, composting, and spreading woodchips.
To volunteer, email mlk365@globalcitizen.us.com or call 215-665-2655. You can also register online here.
