August 19th: Door-to-door outreach, VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
To promote the Loan Modification Scam Alert Campaign, NeighborWorks will be conducting a door-to-door outreach action through its local affiliate, New Kensington CDC, on Thursday, August 19th from 2:00-4:00. Volunteers will hand out the Loan Modification Scam Alert flyer that directs people to the City’s special hotline for assistance. NW expects to mobilize 50-70 volunteers from its national training conference taking place that week at Philadelphia’s Downtown Marriott Hotel. They will be taken by bus to and from New Kensington where Sandy Salzman will assign them locations to cover. This is a great opportunity to get your own volunteers involved with helping people to save their homes from foreclosure. All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt from NeighborWorks. GPUAC will be arranging for press coverage of the outreach blitz. If you have available volunteers for this outreach event, please contact Rachel Moore at RMoore@gpuac.org. Send her their names and contact information so we can give them the details of the event.
