Volunteers Needed for SEAMAAC Food Distribution and Delivery during COVID-19
Posted by SEAMAAC on May 5, 2020
SEAMAAC needs volunteers at their new food distribution system, through which they are supporting tons of immigrant families all over South Philadelphia. They run a city food site, the best one in South Philly (because when the city deliveries aren’t good, they supplement with things from their own pantry they’ve been buying wholesale). Many, many Puentes de Salud families access food there each week – and SEAMAAC is also doing home deliveries on the opposite days to people who can’t leave their homes and is including Puentes families in this network, too. They’re also doing a great job on advocating for and including more culturally appropriate foods in their boxes for the different populations they serve.
