Volunteers Needed for Refugee Education Program
Posted by Southeast by Southeast on August 20, 2019
Southeast by Southeast has a very urgent need for after school home work help volunteers with refugee and migrant/language learning youth this fall. The program meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 – 5 at 2106 South 8th Street.
Southeast by Southeast is a community hub focused on immigrant and refugee health and wellness. We need enthusiastic volunteers to assist in classes where English-language learning students (ages 5 – 13) develop literacy, writing, and homework skills.
Child abuse clearance and criminal background checks are required. Southeast by Southeast is a part of the Porch Light department, a collaboration between Mural Arts Philadelphia and the Department of Behavioral health and Intellectual Disability Services.
