Posted by on May 12, 2006

Calling Community Leaders, Activists, and Concerned Individuals!

Help Media Tank launch a NEW MEDIA MONITORING PROJECT! We are looking for volunteers to participate in this educational project and take a more critical look at our local news media. Participants will play an integral role in the monitoring process, data collection and reporting, as well as shaping future work to improve local media accountability. To get involved, email info@mediatank.org and for more information, please visit http://www.mediatank.org/Events/localvoices/monitoring.html

The presentation and monitoring project are part of Media Tank?s latest initiative, Local Issues, Local Voices: A Media Monitoring & Education Project, which is focused on the relationship between the community and the media here in Philadelphia. Through workshops, presentations, and panel discussions, Media Tank aims to create a space for dialog about the media landscape in the city and to start critically examining the local news and its impact on the City. For more information about this project, please visit our website, http://www.mediatank.org, or call our office, 215-563-1100.

Media Tank is a non-profit media education organization working to provide communities with tools to understand and participate in critical decisions about our nation’s media system and culture.
