Call for Volunteers
Facilitators and recorders are needed Sat., Feb 18th for a special event taking place as part of the 20th Annual Fattah Conference on Higher Education. Conference location is Wyndham Franklin Hotel, Horizons Restaurant, 16th and Race Streets, 8 AM ? 12 noon.
This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an innovative community-wide program that is unprecedented in the United States. Philadelphia is embarking on an effort to create its own endowment fund for higher education, through COREPhilly. COREPhilly has already given thousands of scholarship dollars to high school graduates. In order to sustain the effort, additional fundraising must take place. Also, a plan to create additional capacity for higher education direction in our neighborhoods among faith-based and community-based organizations will result from the strategic plan that will be developed. This plan will be designed to touch every neighborhood, family and student in Philadelphia, and will negate the violence that affects us all today. A free community breakfast will be held for organizations on Saturday, February 18 in downtown Philadelphia (8:00 AM – 12 Noon)in conjunction with the 20th Anniversary of the Fattah Conference on Higher Education. Patricia Russell-McCloud, JD will keynote. All participants must RSVP. Seating is limited, and on a first-come, first served basis. Please call Cheryl Mobley if you’re interested in participating and/or volunteering. Facilitators and recorders are needed. Cheryl can be reached at Cheryl Mobley & Associaties, LLC, 267-784-4525.
