AGENDA:
–Admissions Representatives from over 40 HBCUs
–Financial Aid workshops
–Essay Writing workshops
–Panel Discussions
COST:
Everybody’s favorite price…FREE!
AREAS OF CONTRIBUTION NEEDED:
1) Scholarship support: We welcome any donations for the book scholarships that we are giving away to all essay contest winners. All checks should be made payable to the African American Museum in Philadelphia. In the ‘for’ line, please write “HBCU Scholarship” and forward all scholarship donations to Museum Educator, The African American Museum in Philadelphia, 701 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
2) Panel Discussion: We are in need of 12 alumni to speak on a panel entitled “On the Yard: the Real HBCU Experience.” Each person will speak briefly about a specific aspect of the HBCU experience.
3) Hosting/Attendee Assistance: Due to the larger number of expected attendees, we will need able bodied volunteers to assist attendees with questions and concerns.
4) Student Outreach: If you work with high school students or if you’re a parent, grandparent, or guardian, we invite you to bring your child to the fair.
5) Spreading the Word: Please circulate this email to all HBCU alumni in the area.
Please wear any paraphernalia from your school, sorority, or fraternity!
