Volunteer USA Foundation Announces Literacy Grants
Deadline: October 1, 2009
The Volunteer USA Foundation’s family literacy initiative has announced the availability of planning grants for existing literacy programs interested in serving as a Volunteer USA Foundation family literacy academy.
The purpose of these grants will be to provide planning and training to programs so they can serve as academies for the 2011 school year. Planning grants range from $1,000 to $5,000, and in the following year approved programs may then compete for matching grants between $25,000 and $100,000.
Programs must serve families and/or children with hearing impairments, have nonprofit 501(c)(3) status, and be located in the southern United States. Priority will be given to programs in Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, and Louisiana.
