Delco Literacy Council seeks volunteer tutors
The Delaware County Literacy Council (DCLC) needs volunteer literacy tutors to work one-to-one with local adults seeking to improve their communication skills through either Adult Basic Education (ABE) or English as a Second Language (ESL).
Tutors complete 12 hours of free tutor training and meet their adult learners twice weekly at mutually convenient times and locations. The next free training class for volunteer ABE tutors will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, September 15, 17, 22, and 24, 2015, 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., and Tuesday, October 20, 2015, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., at DCLC, 2217 Providence Avenue, Chester, PA 19013. ESL tutor training will also be available in September. Registration and attendance at all sessions required.
