Nationalities Service Center – Volunteer Teachers and Teaching Assistants.
Nationalities Service Center, which serves immigrants and refugees through legal, social and educational services, is seeking volunteer teachers and teaching assistants for adult ESL (English as a Second Language) classes.
The organization offers four ten-week sessions per year. Volunteer commitment is five hours per week for a minimum of ten weeks. Thirteen morning and evening ESL classes are offered each session. Volunteers do not need to have previous experience teaching ESL. All teachers and teaching assistants attend an eight-hour on-site training. Classes focus on English for everyday communication, employment, health care issues and supporting children in school.
