School Counselors and Advisors: We Need You! Volunteer in the Counseling Center at the National Fair. Every year counselors volunteer in the Counseling Center at the Philadelphia National College Fair and help to guide and answer questions of attendees. Volunteer counselors also help attendees to best utilize the National Fair as a part of their college preparation strategy. Again this year, The Counseling Center, a special section located on the main exhibition college fair floor, will be available for students and their families to stop by and talk with a volunteer counselor.
Volunteer as a “Greeter.” Greeters will be used to help students and their families navigate the fair. Volunteer Greeters will be positioned on the Exhibit Hall Floor in and around the rows of colleges to help students get registered, understand the event, and find their way around the facility to connect with College Exhibitors, the Counseling Center, the Resource Center on the main floor and the workshops one floor below the exhibit hall.
Help Students Complete FAFSA Forms! Again, a FAFSA Completion Workshop will be available at the Fair. Since the USDE Federal Student Aid changed the timeline for completing the FAFSA to availability opening in October, the Philadelphia Fair will again provide an opportunity for students and their families to get assistance with completing the online form. Volunteers with FAFSA completion experience are needed to help students and their families secure their FSA IDs and complete FAFSA forms. Volunteers may be required to have at least 2 years of FAFSA completion experience and may be asked to provide professional references.
