Volunteer for the Philadelphia International Flower Show
March 6-13, 2011
Spring is coming, and in Philadelphia it begins on March 2!
Volunteer one or more days at the Flower Show and enjoy the Show for free!

Please note: Volunteer shifts start on March 2 helping to “build” the Flower Show – a unique experience to watch!
PHS Shoppe Volunteer (retail outlet at the Flower Show)
The PHS Shoppe volunteers work the cash register and ring sales or help with stock and inventory in the Shoppe. Duties include stocking items on shelves, pulling merchandise from supply and stocking shelves or folding/straightening items on display. Volunteers who work the register are trained on how to run the register and managers for the Shoppe are onsite at on times. Retail background helpful. (2 shift minimum per volunteer)
Shifts needed:
Monday 3/7/11-Sunday 3/13/11 2:00 PM -6:00 PM (2 volunteers per day)
Set up and Teardown Shoppe Volunteer – strong volunteers needed!
Set up and Teardown Shoppe Volunteers help set up the Shoppe a few days before we open and help with teardown the last couple days of the show. A great chance to see how this great event is created each year! This role requires some lifting of boxes during set up before the show opens and some lifting during teardown. (2 shift minimum per volunteer)
Shifts needed:
Wednesday, 3/2/11-Saturday-3/5/11 1:00 PM-5:00 PM (3 volunteers per day)
Sunday, 3/6/11 5:00 PM-9:00 PM (3-5 Volunteers per day)
Tea Room Volunteer
The Tea Room Volunteer helps with the (2) seating for tea at the Flower Show. The volunteers help with set up of the teas and with teardown after. In addition, they might help with serving the teas. Food Service or hospitality background helpful. (2 shift minimum per volunteer)
Shifts: Monday, 3/7/11-Sunday 3/13/11
10:30 AM-2:30 PM (2 volunteers per day)
2:00 PM-5:30 PM (2 volunteers per day)
Runner – muscle needed!
The Flower Show runner helps in the FS Office by delivering materials to various sites at the Flower Show. This is a physical role at times and requires someone who is able to lift at least 50 lbs and who is comfortable on their feet for long periods of time and comfortable with physical activity. (2 shift minimum per volunteer)
Shifts: Monday, 3/7/11: 10:00 AM-2 PM (1 volunteer)
Saturday,3/12/11 10:00 AM-2 PM (1 volunteer)
Show Teardown – again, strong volunteers needed!
These volunteers help with the teardown of the Flower Show on the last Sunday of the show. This can be a physical assignment. Volunteers are on the show floor and are likely to do some lifting and packing of items.
