Volunteer Facilitators needed, Pre-Employment Summits for youth

OPPORTUNITY FOR VOLUNTEERS
The Pre-Employment Summits are a kick-off training event to the WorkReady Philadelphia summer program, a citywide initiative that engages youth ages 14-21, in a variety of enriched workforce development activities and programs. The Summits are filled with information and activities that help youth prepare for work and better develop the skills that promote workplace success. This year, the Summits will occur on Saturday, June 18, 2005 and Saturday, June 25, 2005 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
As a volunteer facilitator what can I expect?
– Training on the WorkReady Philadelphia Pre-Employment curriculum between June 1 and June 15, 2005.
– Breakfast and lunch provided.
– Support from co-facilitators helping to deliver curriculum.
– A.M. and P.M. sessions at participating college campuses and corporate facilities.
– Networking opportunities with other volunteer professionals.
– Gratification from helping WorkReady Philadelphia youth prepare for a rewarding and productive summer.
Volunteer criteria:
– Availability to facilitate an a.m. and p.m. session on one or both Saturdays.
– A willingness to train aspiring future professionals.
– Participation in a train-the-trainer workshop for Summit volunteers between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

– Preliminary training on all Summit materials is provided.
