Do you like talking about sex?
Be a Volunteer Educator for Planned Parenthood!
Being a volunteer educator is a great way to develop new skills, reach out to the community, have fun, meet great people, and even expand your future career options!
All volunteer educators participate in an initial 5-session training, and commit to facilitating one sexuality education program per month for a minimum of one year. Most programs take place during the school day, so educators must be available one weekday morning or afternoon per month to facilitate programs.
Programs take place at schools, community organizations, after-school programs, and religious organizations. Most programs are in the city of Philadelphia, although some are in Montgomery and Delaware counties.
Volunteer educators facilitate workshops on the following topics:
sexual/reproductive anatomy, puberty, sexually transmitted infections, safer sex/birth control, and relationships. Educators work in pairs, and are given a variety of programs each month to choose from.
The next training is tentatively scheduled for the following dates. Participants must be able to attend all training sessions to be eligible for the program:
Monday, September 20th 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Wednesday, September 22nd 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Monday, September 27th 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Wednesday, September 29th 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Saturday, October 2nd 10:00-4:00
If you are interested in attending this training, or if you’d like more information, please contact Lisa Taglang at 215-351-5518, or [email protected].
