The Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission volunteer coordinator is responsible by managing all aspects of the Volunteer program of the Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission.
Christian Life: As an employee of Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission you are an important member of a Christian organization. Staff members are Christian missionaries and are required from time to time to participate in chapel services, outreach ministries, or counseling sessions. Because of the nature of these types of ministries it is an absolute necessity that you possess and maintain a testimony or lifestyle that is above reproach. What you do on your own time may seriously affect your ability to perform these types of ministries, which are an important part of your job
DUTIES/JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission volunteer coordinator is responsible by managing all aspects of the Volunteer program of the Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission.
- Recruit and schedule volunteers for all aspects of this ministry.
- Welcome, supervise and nurture the volunteers at the Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission.
- Update and manage the volunteer database in Sales Force
- Coordinate special holiday volunteer groups
- Manage and engage churches in the Mission’s church advocates program
- Create content for the Mission’s Social Media accounts
- Present volunteer related story ideas to the Development Team for use in the Missions publications
- Other duties as assigned.
- Plan, organize and direct the annual Fall and Summer Food Drives
- Develop and manage the Volunteer Orientation and training opportunities.
- Maintains all records relating to volunteers and volunteer activities.
- Maintain the Volunteer Handbook and supervise orientation of volunteers.
- Promote community interest in volunteer services
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum two years of work experience, with at least one year in either volunteer coordination/events management, a development department or related experience.
- Strong writing, proofreading verbal, interpersonal and group communications skills.
- Exceptional administrative, organizational and time management skills.
- Computer Skills: Strong with proficiency in all programs of the current Microsoft Office suite, and experience with database software, Raiser’s Edge and Sales force preference.
