Job description
Episcopal Community Services (ECS), a Philadelphia non-profit social services agency, located in Society Hill, with an annual budget of $9 million, is seeking a motivated, self-starter advancement professional to fill its opening for a Volunteer Coordinator (VC). The VC reports to the Community Engagement Manager (CEM) and will provide support in the development and stewardship of relationships with ECS volunteers.
Under the supervision of the CEM the VC will work from multiple ECS offices to complete the training and direct supervision of volunteers. Strong belief in and passion for the mission and values of ECS is imperative for this position. The ideal candidate will have excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills; as well as, the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
DUTIES:
- Serve as primary point of contact for volunteers including recruitment, training, compliance, engagement and recognition
- Maintain volunteer module of constituent database and create reports for management
- Produce volunteer and Gift-in-Kind acknowledgement letters
- Provide CEM with assistance during Gift-in-Kind projects such as Fill the Bus and the Christmas Program. Assistance includes managing data, identifying volunteer needs during programs, scheduling gift deliveries, sorting donations, obtaining data from program staff, and producing thank you letters
- Supervise volunteer groups on-site and off-site at such places as ECS St. Barnabas Mission
- Assist ECS St. Barnabas Education Services Coordinator in scheduling volunteers
- Process, monitor, track and file all volunteer clearances and archive volunteer paperwork
- Under the supervision of the CEM, the VC will advocate for support of ECS by assisting in parish visits as needed. Advocacy includes giving presentations at parishes during ECS Sundays
- Provide support for Outreach Conference planning and other Advancement events as needed
- Create and maintain manual for processes relating to volunteers including the clearance process, data tracking, and the volunteer handbook
- Create parish visit profiles for CEM and other ECS staff members and volunteers as needed for parish visits
- Provide support to the CEM and other members of the Advancement Department as needed
