Volunteer College Bridge Instructors, Petey Greene Program – Jul 15

Posted by Petey Greene Program on July 12, 2022

The Petey Greene Program (PGP) is seeking volunteer instructors for our fall 2022 college readiness writing courses in correctional facilities in New Jersey (Newark and Trenton) and Massachusetts (Boston). The courses are offered as part of our College Bridge Program and help incarcerated learners develop the critical thinking, writing, and reading skills that are necessary to pursue employment and post-secondary education, while fostering a sense of educational self-efficacy and self-confidence that will support them in these pursuits. Fall semester classes will run between October and December 2022. One-to-two year commitment is strongly preferred.

The PGP is the largest provider of academic tutoring and support services for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated learners. We piloted the College Bridge Writing Program at the D.C. Jail in 2020, and we currently offer college readiness programs in Washington, D.C., New Jersey, and Massachusetts.
