VISTA: North Camden Community Schools Coordinator

Camden Community Charter School and Cooper’s Poynt aspire to partner with community organizations to address the various needs of students and families living in poverty and that have negative effects on student achievement. The Ignite afterschool program aims to provide educational enrichment and fun activities for students in grades 4-8. In this position, you will identify key supporters for community schools, develop partnerships to support students’ educational success and to bring in additional resources to meet school needs. This position requires pre-service drug screening and criminal background checks.

Member Duties : As the Community Schools Coordinator, you will: 1) Conduct a school community needs assessment and present findings to stakeholders. 2) Increase the number of community partners that can meet identified school needs. 3) Enhance the management of Ignite, an extended day program for 4th- 8th grade students. 4) Represent the school in the community and at city wide events and meetings. 5) Collect data to prepare for and present end of year school reports to partners and stakeholders. In this position, you will spearhead the North Camden community school effort through increasing the school’s integration of partnerships in order to ultimately maximize student learning and strengthen families and the neighborhood. You will play an essential role in advancing community support and providing students with enrichment activities to enhance education outcomes.
