    BACKGROUND

    Philadelphia’s Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service is recruiting 1 VISTA Leaders for the 2016-2017 SERVE Philadelphia AmeriCorps VISTA Corps. The SERVE Philadelphia AmeriCorps VISTA team, administered through the Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service, is the engine that drives the City’s efforts to support and promote targeted volunteerism as an effective strategy for addressing Philadelphia’s greatest challenges.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    This year the Office of Civic Engagement & Volunteer Service is looking for 1 AmeriCorps alumni to serve as VISTA leaders. The VISTA leader will lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the SERVE Philadelphia VISTA Corps.

    **Applicants must be AmeriCorps alumni or current member.

    SERVE Philadelphia VISTA Leader:

    The VISTA leader in charge of the SERVE Philadelphia VISTA Corps will work to 1) Increase the presence and awareness of the SERVE Philadelphia VISTA Corps 2) Manage the day-to-day operations of the SERVE Philadelphia VISTA Corps 3) Serve as a spokesperson for the SERVE Philadelphia VISTA Corps 3) Connect Philadelphia’s non-profit community to SERVE Philadelphia’s website and VISTA projects 4) Collect and analyze data around the impact of SERVE Philadelphia VISTA projects and 4) Provide SERVE Philadelphia VISTAs with mentorship and professional development.

    This opportunity is ideal for an individual looking to gain leadership experience, strengthen their program management skills, increase their professional network, work with high-level City officials, and serve as a mentor to over twenty-two SERVE Philadelphia VISTAs.
