VISTA Leader, School-Community Partnerships VISTA Project

PHENND seeks a VISTA Leader for a late July (or as soon as possible thereafter) start date.

The VISTA Leader should have strong skills and experience with/in the following areas:

• Staff and volunteer management
• Written and verbal communication
• Conflict resolution and stress management
• Philadelphia public schools and AmeriCorps VISTA
• Qualitative and quantitative data management

The primary goal of the PHENND VISTA Leader is to support the VISTA Program Manager in the management and implementation of the PHENND VISTA program in these key areas:
1) Planning and Facilitation
Set year-long training agenda for monthly meetings. Facilitate monthly trainings. Plan retreats and social activities for the cohort. Develop and implement bi-monthly series of networking ‘VISTAs in Education’ meetings.

2) VISTA Support
Create and maintain VISTA contact log. Conduct regular phone calls and in-person meetings with PHENND VISTAs at their school/District sites. Provide support to VISTAs in their work (managing conflicts, building professional skills, etc.). Track needs and goals of PHENND VISTAs throughout their year of service. Work with each VISTA to create Individual Development Plans through brainstorming and resource-gathering.

3) Project and Data Management
Revise and edit monthly progress report questions (via Qualtrics) and distribute the report to cohort. Aggregate survey responses and support the Program Manager in writing quarterly and yearly reports. Manage distribution of transportation passes and completion of transportation logs. Assist in drafting of job descriptions for the 2016-17 year.

4) Brand Building and Recruitment

Maintain Twitter account and manage Facebook group. Attend service and recruitment events to promote interest in the PHENND VISTA program. Update job descriptions and post online and at career offices. Assist with the vetting of resumes, scheduling and interviewing of VISTA candidates for the upcoming year.
