Virtual Volunteer Opportunity: Peer Grant Reviewers – Feb 9

Posted by PennSERVE on January 12, 2021

PennSERVE is seeking volunteers to review AmeriCorps grant applications. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the grant-making process, develop your own grant-writing skills, and contribute your knowledge and experience to our efforts to select high-quality Pennsylvania-based programs for AmeriCorps funding.

Responsibilities: If selected as a reviewer, you will help to evaluate grant applications for the 2021 AmeriCorps State Grant Competition. You will read, score, and evaluate applications and discuss their findings with PennSERVE via a grant scoring document.

Reviewers must be comfortable reading and analyzing a large volume of material in a short period of time. Reviewers will attend a webinar training on March 4 from 3:30 – 5:00 pm; and must complete application reviews by March 31, 2021. You’ll review two – three applications; the total time commitment is 6-12 hours.

Qualifications: We are looking for a diverse group of reviewers that have grant writing or reviewing experience and have experience with national service or community-based programs. You may not serve as a reviewer if you work for, or serve as an AmeriCorps member with, an organization that is being considered for funding in this competition.

To Apply: To apply, please email your resume to pennserve@pa.gov by Tuesday, February 9, 2021. PennSERVE will review resumes and contact qualified applicants.
