About the Speaker
Michael Smith, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication and Digital Arts at La Salle. He teaches courses in public relations, organizational communication, conflict management, and ethics at the graduate and undergraduate level. He’s been a Nonprofit Center constructor since 1998, when he helped organize a nonprofit media relations institute. Since then, he has taught courses in strategic communication planning, media relations, and crisis communications. He has been a consultant for several area organizations, volunteered in media relations for a number of major city events, and has supervised over 200 student projects with nonprofits.
