Virtual Event: PA Broadband Symposium – Apr 22
Posted by Drexel University on April 19, 2022
Join the University of Pittsburgh and state and regional partners to strategize, identify funding sources, and coordinate efforts for delivering broadband to the more than 800,000 Pennsylvanians who lack access to robust, reliable, high-speed internet.
While the ongoing pandemic has magnified the impact of the digital divide on education, employment opportunities, and health care, there is also increased momentum and funding opportunities from the recent passage of the U.S. Investment and Jobs Act, as well as state legislation to establish the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority. Now is the time to coordinate efforts to expand high-speed internet access and foster digital literacy in underserved areas of the Commonwealth.
Andy Stutzman, Project Director for Civic Technology, ExCITe Center, Drexel University, will be speaking on the “Access and Technologies” panel and Juliet Fink-Yates, Digital Inclusion Manager at Office of Innovation & Technology, City of Philadelphia, will be moderating the “Building an Inclusive Digital Ecosystem” panel.
Date and Time: Friday, April 22, 2022, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
