Virtual Event: Beyond the Dream: The Enduring Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. – Jan 31
Posted by Rutgers Camden on January 25, 2022
The “Beyond the Dream” speaker series celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with conversations that will deepen our understanding of Dr. King and the civil rights movement beyond the well-known “I Have a Dream” speech. The series includes Rutgers University faculty and other experts who will discuss contributions of other leaders who were key to the success of the civil rights movement but who are less well known to some and the impact of the civil rights movement on current social justice movements.
The speaker series will conclude with a conversation with Dr. Clayborne Carson, Martin Luther King, Jr. Centennial Professor, Emeritus at Stanford University who founded the Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute at Stanford which holds the definitive collection of sermons, speeches, correspondences, writings and other materials of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Date and Time: Monday, January 31, 2022, 11:20 AM – 12:20 PM
