ACHIEVEability – Vice President of Self-Sufficiency

ACHIEVEability is seeking a Vice President of Self-Sufficiency who will be responsible for the organization’s Family Self-Sufficiency Program.

The VP of Self-Sufficiency is responsible for all operational facets of the FSSP and plays a vital role in agency leadership including planning, oversight, management, coordination, integration, evaluation, reporting, resource development, financial management and promotion for all aspects of the program.  S/he will ensure adherence to established policies and procedures and will develop new policies and procedures as needed. The VP of Self-Sufficiency will also ensure that a minimum of 35% of all families leaving the program achieve self sufficiency.

Qualifications include a graduate or professional degree; at least five years of experience in a position of significant responsibility; at least five years supervisory experience; and skill and  experience in any or a combination of the following areas: education and training, human services, customer service, project and program management, financial management, public relations and resource or business development.

The ideal candidate will have proven ability to conceptualize, create, and implement an innovative service concept, as well as be able to inspire, lead, and train a team in embracing new approaches and methods. Excellent communication skills; an ability to command attention and garner buy-in from all levels of staff; and the ability to create business opportunities as well as lead in a start-up environment are required.  Candidates should also have a track record of positive community relations.
