Big Brothers Big Sisters Southeastern Pennsylvania (BBBS SEPA), the premier youth mentoring organization in the state, seeks an experienced development professional to provide strategic and operational leadership in regard to the agency’s overall vision and goals with a focus on individual giving; particularly in the areas of major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, stewardship, prospect management, corporate relations, and special events. This is a senior management position; successful candidate would be a member of the executive Leadership Team and report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The Vice President will also work closely with members of the Governing Board, Regional Boards; and manage the Board’s Development and Governance Committees.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as member of the agency’s Leadership Team and is involved with overall agency strategic planning and decision making.
  • Plans, organizes and executes all strategies for individuals, corporations and special events in order to achieve annual fundraising goals.
  • Works directly with the CEO and Board Chair to manage, cultivate, and solicit Governing Board members
  • Works directly with CEO to create/cultivate/steward all major donor relationships
  • Primary liaison for the Board’s Development and Governance Committees
  • Oversees the four Regional Advisory Boards
  • Innovates new fundraising campaigns such as planned giving and comprehensive campaigns
  • Manages a prospect pool of major and leadership donors ($10,000+)
  • Creates fund development plan, strategies, projections and expense budget
  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with local and regional funders as well as engaging in broad community outreach.
  • Creates an enhanced major gifts program focused on individual donors that includes an ongoing prospect research system.
  • Recruits, motivates and oversees a six person development team, directly supervises the Director of Development.
