Vice President, Business & Partnership Development, Clarifi

The Vice President – Business & Partnership Development manages the efforts and program implementation needed to achieve Clarifi‘s strategic goals and objectives by raising the revenue needed each year to sustain the organization’s mission on a short- and long-term basis. The responsibilities of this position include the development of corporate/private partnerships, the identification of new income streams, the negotiation of revenue contracts and the development of those contracts, and the search for foundation support and legislative/government funding opportunities. In addition, this position oversees the agency’s internal and external communication efforts, an integral part of sustaining revenue by building agency awareness through promotions, public relations, fundraising efforts, and program marketing support.
The Vice President manages a team of outreach/business development professionals who develop partnerships and business relationships throughout Clarifi’s tri-state footprint in order to connect the agency’s counseling and education programs to community-based groups, financial institution partners, area employers, and potential new funders.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Highly motivated executive-level professional who has worked a minimum of 5-10 years in a business development role for a professional service organization, as well as possessing 10-15 years of progressive management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Communications, Business, Public Administration, or Non-Profit Management preferred.
- Excellent strategic skills needed to develop and plan appropriate business development/marketing campaigns.
- Supervisory skills and hands-on experience to run the day-to-day aspects of marketing and business development/outreach activities.
- Ability to create partnerships and sustain key relationships.
- Proven success in building sustained revenue through multi-year contracts.
- Negotiation and follow-up skills to close service contracts and sponsorships.
- Budgeting and financial-planning expertise critical.
- Non-profit, board, and/or fundraising experience a plus as well as a strong knowledge of the financial service industry.
- Negotiation and follow-up skills to close donations and sponsorships.
- Strong drive to attain outcomes and passionate focus on the customer/client.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with courage to attempt new initiatives and ability to adjust quickly to changing circumstances or less-than-ideal outcomes.
- Energetic personality that thrives in a fast-paced and collegial environment.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks and simultaneous projects while showing a solid sense of follow-through, tenacity, forward thinking and project management.
