Home Depot Foundation invites applications for Veterans Housing Grants Program
The Home Depot Foundation invites applications for its Veteran Housing Grants Program, which will award grants ranging between $100,000 and $500,000 to support the construction and rehabilitation of permanent supportive multifamily housing for veterans. Grants will be awarded solely for the physical construction of such housing (i.e., hard costs). The foundation does not provide funding for soft costs such as furnishings, rental subsidies, tenant services, etc. The target population served through the program is honorably discharged veterans, at or below 80 percent AMI.
Priority will be given to “large” cities, defined by the foundation as those with populations of more than 300,000 people. The foundation has identified a specific focus on projects located in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, San Diego, Seattle, and Tampa.
Applicants must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, have been in good standing with the Internal Revenue Service for at least five years, and have a current operating budget of at least $300,000.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the Home Depot Foundation website.
Deadline: July 8, 2022
