United Communities – Truancy Coordinators, Volunteer Coordinator and Data Entry Clerk.
United Communities, a nonprofit, multi-purpose settlement house with a long tradition of service to children, adults and families residing in Southeast Philadelphia, has several job openings. The agency is seeking two Truancy Coordinators, a part-time a Volunteer Coordinator for its curfew center and part-time Truancy Data Entry Clerk.
The Truancy Coordinators are responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Truancy Case Managers, programs and services as well as a small caseload. Candidates must have Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related field; 2-3 years experience in social work, case management and/or counseling; understanding of child and family development; knowledge of South Philadelphia area and city resources for low income families; ability to work with a diverse population; excellent writing, documentation and communication skills; and proficiency in MS Office applications.
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting volunteers, determining the volunteer work schedule, managing volunteer absences, maintaining a separate pool of backup volunteers and working with the Site Coordinator to develop supportive ways to retain the current volunteer group. Qualifications include a High School Diploma (some college preferred); previous experience in coordinating volunteer programs; familiarity with the mission of the Curfew Centers and the role of volunteers; familiarity with child-serving agencies; ability to work under pressure; ability to work evenings; excellent interpersonal skills; proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
The Data Entry Clerk will enter information into the database in a timely and accurate manner and provide weekly reports to supervisor. Qualifications include a high school diploma (Bachelors Degree preferred); and 3-4 years data entry experience.
