    Tree Planting with the Philadelphia Orchard Project

    SHARE ORCHARD PLANTING
    Saturday, October 9 @ 10am
    2901 Hunting Park Ave, North Philadelphia
    Help plant new fruit trees, berry bushes, and perennials at the expanding SHARE Orchard! POP is assisting SHARE in developing a multi-faceted demonstration farm to complement its emergency food programs. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.

    PRESTON’S PARADISE ORCHARD PLANTING

    839 N. Preston St, West Philadelphia
    Lend a hand with new orchard plantings at Preston’s Paradise, an innovative urban homestead and non-profit that works to expand food access in the Belmont neighborhood.  What a way to spend your Columbus Day!  Please RSVP if you plan to attend.

    UNITED COMMUNITIES ORCHARD PLANTING

    S. 8th St between Emily & Mercy, South Philadelphia
    Help the youth of United Communities in transforming this formerly vacant lot into an orchard and community space.   VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION FILLED.

    EVELYN SANDERS ORCHARD PLANTING
    Saturday, October 16 @ 1pm
    3016 Percy St, North Philadelphia
    Help out with weeding and new plantings at this orchard at Evelyn Sanders, a community for young mothers developed by the Women’s Community Revitalization Project.   Please RSVP if you plan to attend.

    APPLE FESTIVAL & PLANTING AT WOODFORD ORCHARD
    Sunday, October 17 @ 1pm
    NW of 33rd & Dauphin, East Fairmount Park
    Join us for this fun community celebration of the fall harvest with ciderpressing, apple dessert contest, bean bag toss, and tours of historic Woodford!  We’ll also be planting a kitchen garden, wildflower border, and adding some new trees to the orchard. Event in collaboration with the East Park Revitalization Alliance, Woodford, and Parks & Rec.   Please RSVP if you plan to attend.
