Sankofa Freedom Academy Charter School – Various positions.

Sankofa Freedom Academy Charter School is a college preparatory K-12 freedom school, which utilizes African Centered pedagogical practices to empower and impassion students and staff to be lifelong teachers, learners, activists, and servant leaders.  Sankofa Freedom Academy will build on the Philadelphia Freedom Schools model by bringing together high school servant leaders with elementary school scholars to increase literacy and numeracy levels throughout the community, promote respect for scholarship, servant leadership, conflict resolution, personal and social responsibility as well as cultural democracy.

The school is seeking certified teachers in elementary, secondary math, science, and Spanish, administrative assistant and receptionists, teaching assistants and non-teaching assistants, and lunch time aides.  The school is scheduled to open in September 2009 in Philadelphia’s Frankford section.
