Director of School Age Care (SAC)
This position is currently ? time to full time year round. Availability to work until after 6:15 pm during the school year and between 8:00 and 6:00 during the summer months is required. Reports to Director of Summit Children?s Program.
1. Responsible for program planning and implementation within guidelines of the Program?s philosophy, developmentally appropriate practices, NAEYC/NSACCA Accreditation standards and DPW licensing regulations.
2. Primary responsibility for hiring and supervising all staff of school age programs including orientation, directing daily work, regular supervisory conferences, and completion of annual performance appraisals.
3. Primary responsibility for budget oversight for school age programs. With Executive Director, responsible to develop budget for school age programs and monitor expenses.
4. Responsible for intake and orientation of families in school age program. This includes, but is not limited to recruitment, intake interviews, orientation of parents and children, helping office manager in maintenance of children?s files and organization of fall parent meeting.
5. Responsible for oversight of physical space to maximize independence of children, provide a stimulating learning environment, and enable effective use of the space and to provide an attractive and welcoming environment.
6. Responsible for overseeing professional development including observation of other programs, assessing individual needs and interests of employees, maintaining professional development records, and organizing on and off-site training opportunities.
7. Responsible to act as a lead teacher in the SAC program when enrollment is 40 students or less.
8. Responsible for procurement of equipment and supplies for SAC.
9. Responsible, with Executive Director, to organize family recreational activities and parent education programs.
10. Athletic and creative and/or performing art interest a plus.
Lead Teacher in School Age Care (SAC)
Lead teacher needed for our School Age Care program in West Mt. Airy. Experience working with children ages 5-12 a must. Bachelor?s Degree in Education or related field required. Must be creative, energetic, and nurturing. Hours are 2-6 p.m.; however, availability to work longer hours on school holidays and snow days is required. Can possibly be a full time position during summer camp months. Position includes some benefits and salary range is $9-12/hour depending on education and experience. Assistant Teacher in School Age Care (SAC)
Assistant teacher needed for our School Age Care program in West Mt. Airy. Experience working with children ages 5-12 a must. Associate?s Degree in Education or related preferred; however, equivalent experience will be strongly considered. Applicant must be creative, energetic, and have a heart for children. Hours are 3-6 p.m.; however, availability to work longer hours on school holidays and snow days may be needed. Currently a 10 month position with a salary range of $6-9/hour depending on education and experience. Expected start date, September 7, 2004.
