1) Administrative Assistant to Childcare Center Director Full-Time (Childcare)
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the initial intake of all families. In addition she/he will provide administrative support to the Center?s Director. Should have the following qualifications: Minimums of a high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years direct experience, Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from all economic strata, Ability to work flexible hours (evening) at least twice per months, Must be able to fluently speak, write and comprehend Spanish and English, Knowledgeable Microsoft Word and Excel, Knowledge of Puerto Rican/Latino community and Clearance of child abuse, criminal and drug a must. SALARY RANGE: $17,000 – $24,000
2) Bookkeeping Clerk Full-Time (Admin)
Responsible for inputting into the accounting systems of all the raw data necessary to maintain accurate and updated financial system. Responsible for payroll, cash receipts and check disbursement. Should have the following qualifications: Three years experience in bookkeeping or college degree, Computer skills, Ability to complete assignments in an accurate and timely manner, Understanding of the MIP Software preferred and Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
SALARY RANGE: $23,000 – $28,500
3) Education Specialist Full-Time (Childcare)
The general duties are to assist with documents required in the educational component and follow up on special educational projects. The employee is expected to ensure that all written documentation required from the teachers is completed and file in a timely fashion. This position will be responsible of tracking the semi-annual developmental screening, quarterly children?s developmental assessment, NRS testing for kindergarten children. Should have the following qualifications: Minimum of Associate Degree in Early Childhood/Education, Computer knowledge, Minimum five years working with children, Knowledge of the Latino Community and the Norris Square Area, Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact with people of different racial, cultural, educational and economic backgrounds, Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends and Must be able to obtain Criminal and Child Abuse Clearances. SALARY RANGE: $22,000 – $25,000
4) Special Needs Teacher Full-Time (Childcare)
The Special Need Teacher is responsible to support the teaching staff with all special need children in identifying and referring children for evaluations, coordinating services and ensuring that individual lesson plans are prepared and implemented according to IEP. She is also responsible to maintain record updated, assist teachers in following up on referrals. Should have the following qualifications: A minimum Bachelors degree in Education or related field and 3 years related experience (certification in Early Childhood Education), Must be able to fluently speak, write, and read Spanish and English, Knowledge and experience working with Puerto-Rican culture, Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact with people of different racial, cultural, educational and economic backgrounds, Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends and Must be able to obtain Criminal and Child Abuse Clearances. SALARY RANGE: $25,000 – $30,000
5) Teacher (5 positions) Full-Time (Childcare)
Assist in the implementation of developmentally appropriate practices for all children. To ensure program?s compliance with federally mandated Performance Standards in the areas of Education. The staff assigned to this position is responsible for the health, safety and personal welfare of assigned children. Should have the following qualifications: Minimum of CDA, Preferably an Associate or Bachelors Degree on Early Childhood Education, Bilingual Spanish/English, Minimum of 260 hours working with pre-school children, Must be able to obtain criminal and child abuse clearance and Basic computer knowledge is preferred. SALARY RANGE: $17,000 – $25,000
6) Assistant Teacher (3 positions) Full-Time (Childcare)
The general duties are to assist the Teacher in the implementation of developmentally appropriate practices for all children. To assist in meeting program?s compliance with federally mandated Performance Standards in the areas of Education. The staff assigned to this position is responsible to assist the teacher in providing quality care in the areas of health, safety and personal welfare of assigned children. Should have the following qualifications: Minimum of High School Diploma, Preferably a CDA, Bilingual Spanish/English, Minimum of 260 hours working with pre-school children, Basic computer knowledge is preferred and Must be able to obtain Criminal and Child Abuse Clearances. SALARY RANGE: $12,000 – $18,000
7) Evening Activities Coordinator Full-time (Youth Services)
Overseeing the 21st Century CLC Program @ McKinley and the Beacon F Program @ Hunter to assure that staffing, program specifications, and fiscal responsibilities, per contract, are being met, Assure that required staff is hired to run programs accurately, Supervise staff hired under both contracts, Assure parent participation in programs, Develop relationships with and recruit young adults, parents and families to participate and Review performance against contracts and objectives. Should have the following qualifications: Bachelor?s degree preferred (and demonstrated strength in basic skills), Bilingual/Bicultural in Spanish and English, Demonstrated experience in management (including budget) and staff supervision, Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact with individuals of different racial, cultural, educational, and economic backgrounds, Familiarity with data collection and entry for report purposes, Familiarity with the Norris Square community and its service providers, Ability and willingness to work Evenings and Weekends and Must be able to obtain criminal and child abuse clearance. SALARY RANGE $25,000 ? $30,000
8) Health Specialist Full-Time (Childcare)
The general duties are to assist Health Coordinator in working with children & families? efforts to improve their health conditions and quality of family life. The Health Specialist is expected to maintain and document all children health status and promote good health and safety among the community we served. Ensure program?s compliance with federally mandated Performance Standards in the areas of Child Health & Safety. Should have the following qualifications: Bilingual/Bicultural in English and Spanish preferred, Minimum of high school diploma, Minimum of one-year experience working with children families in an accredited health, mental health, and educational or social service facility, Basic computer knowledge is preferred, Familiarity with the Norris Square community and its service providers and Must be able to obtain criminal and child abuse clearance.
SALARY RANGE $13,000 – $16,000
9) Sports Coordinator Part-Time (Youth Services)
The primary responsibility of this position will be to identify and implement recreational programming for the Norris Square community. Candidate will be responsible for hiring and overseeing instructors to teach classes deemed necessary by community and recruiting participants for those classes. Should have the following qualifications: Bilingual/Bicultural in Spanish and English, Demonstrated work experience in developing recreational programs, Strong communication skills-written and verbal, Ability and willingness to work Saturdays and a minimum of 3 evenings, Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact with individuals of different racial, cultural, educational, and economic backgrounds, Valid driver?s license and car, Familiarity with the Norris Square community and its service providers and Must be able to obtain criminal and child abuse clearance.
SALARY RANGE $12 to $14 per hour
10) Arts Coordinator Part-Time (Youth Services)
The primary responsibility of this position will be to identify and implement artistic (dance, graphics, silkscreen, video production, etc.) programming for the Norris Square community. Candidate will be responsible for hiring and overseeing instructors to teach classes deemed necessary by community and recruiting participants for those classes.Should have the following qualifications: Bilingual/Bicultural in Spanish and English, Demonstrated work experience in developing artistic programs, Strong communication skills-written and verbal, Ability and willingness to work Saturdays and a minimum of 3 evenings, Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact with individuals of different racial, cultural, educational, and economic backgrounds, Valid driver?s license and car, Familiarity with the Norris Square community and its service providers and Must be able to obtain criminal and child abuse clearance. SALARY RANGE $12 to $14 per hour
11) Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director
Full-time (Administration)
Responsible for assisting and supporting the Executive Director to ensure that the administrative operations of NSCA flow in an organized efficient and timely matter. Qualifications: Minimum of three years administrative experience, Strong verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English, Strong skills in word-processing and computer literate, Ability to work independently and with initiative, and complete work in a timely manner, Ability to make sound and on the spot decisions, Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends, Commitment to community empowerment and Demonstrated ability to work with people of different racial, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds. SALARY RANGE $22,000 – $28,000
12) Youth Leadership Coordinator Full-time (Youth Services)
Preparing school-age youth of Norris Square neighborhood for higher educational opportunities. The long-term goal is increasing the level of education amongst neighborhood youth by exposing them to available resources and expanding their knowledge base. 2) Overseeing a leadership council of a minimum of 20 youth. The long-term goal is to train the youth to ?organize for change? and be self-sufficient. Should have the following qualifications: Bachelors Degree required, Bilingual/Bicultural in Spanish and English, Minimum of 3 years work experience in required youth work, leadership, development, counselor, Strong organizing/leadership background, Strong communication skills-written and verbal, Ability and willingness to work Saturdays and some evenings, Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact with individuals of different racial, cultural, educational, and economic backgrounds, Valid driver?s license and car and Familiarity with the Norris Square community, and its service providers. SALARY RANGE $25,000 – $30,000
