Lutheran Settlement House Founded in 1902, Lutheran Settlement House (LSH) is a non-profit, community-based organization, committed to providing comprehensive services to vulnerable children, adults, and families living in inner city Philadelphia.  LSH integrates social, educational and advocacy services through the provision of the following programs: Bilingual Domestic Violence Program (BDVP), Community Education & Employment Department (CEED), Jane Addams Place Homeless Services, and LSH Senior Center and Services.

Lutheran Settlement House is seeking to fill the following positions:

•    On-Call Cook –Jane Addams Place
Under the supervision of the Head Cook, the On-Call Cook is responsible for preparing meals, serving, and cleaning up as assigned.  Current ServSafe certificate required.  Ability to work in a kitchen operated according to the regulations of the Philadelphia Department of Health.  Must have ability to observe and practice all kitchen and food handling and serving safety procedures.  Ability to relate to families in an urban setting and to work any shift.  Desire to work in a homeless servicing agency.

•    Residential Advisors (Full Time, Part time, Weekend, On-Call) – Jane Addams Place
Under the supervision of the Director, the Residential Advisor is responsible for the orderliness and safety of the shelter program and residents, maintenance of the facility, and provision of safe, clean and hospitable residential services for homeless families.  Good interpersonal skills, flexibility and ability to relate to the needs of homeless individuals.  Experience in shelter services, and/or bilingual English-Spanish a plus.

•    Assistant to Executive Director – Executive
Under the supervision of the Executive Director the Assistant to Executive Director will provide administrative support to the Executive Director including operation of the Executive Director’s office and specific activities such as community relations, marketing, and fundraising.  To be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Database software. Typing 50 WPM, excellent interpersonal skills required, as well as good organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

•    Director – Bilingual Domestic Violence Program
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the BDVP Director is responsible for implementing agency mission in regards to domestic violence programming and participating in the leadership team of the overall agency. The BDVP Director ensures the provision of quality services, supervision of staff, fulfillment of contractual obligations, maintenance of funding, and adherence to program budget.  A master’s degree in social work or related field required. Minimum three years experience in program planning and domestic violence/clinical services delivery. Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills, as well as sensitivity to victims and survivors of violence and low-income individuals and communities. Ability to adapt to the changing needs of a dynamic community-based organization. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

•    Administrative Coordinator – Bilingual Domestic Violence Program
Under the supervision of the BDVP Program Director, the Administrative Coordinator is primarily responsible for implementing and managing administrative office systems and providing limited crisis counseling for victims of domestic violence in the office as needed. To be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Database software. Typing 50 WPM, excellent interpersonal skills required, as well as good organizational, verbal and written communication skills.  Must be bilingual English/Spanish
