Organizing Director–Health Systems
Responsible for directing the District’s Health System Organizing Program among nurses and other acute care hospital workers, with the goal of organizing tens of thousands of health systems employees to build the movement for justice for caregivers and safe, quality health care for all Pennsylvanians. This position requires significant organizing and campaign development, direction and supervisory experience. Can be based in either Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg and other locations in Pennsylvania, with statewide travel required.

Organizing Director–MH/MR
Responsible for directing the District’s MH/MR Organizing Program, with the goal of building the union among direct care workers who provide critical support for MH/MR consumers in Pennsylvania while often living in poverty and lacking access to health care for themselves and their own families. This position requires significant organizing and campaign development, direction and supervisory experience. This position is based in Pittsburgh, with statewide travel required.

Nurse Program Coordinator
Responsible for developing and leading the union’s activities to build power for nurses, with the objective of setting the highest workplace and professional standards for staff nurses in Pennsylvania and access to the highest quality of health care for all Pennsylvanians. The primary areas of focus of the Nurse Program Coordinator are effecting legislative and public policy change, supporting collective bargaining and organizing campaigns among nurses, enhancing opportunities for nurses’ professional education and advancement, as well as serving as the union’s primary spokesperson on nurse issues. Union leadership experience preferred but not required. RN licensure required. This position will be preferably based in Harrisburg, with statewide travel required.

Campaign Communications Coordinator
We are looking for staff with experience and proven skills doing campaign communications for our organizing programs in Pennsylvania. Responsibilities may include framing messages and developing materials for effective communication with the news media, the general public, union members and other working people.

Campaign Political/Community Organizer
We are looking for people with prior political and/or community organizing experience to work with our organizing programs in Pennsylvania. Staff will build community, political & religious support for organizing projects and political or issue campaigns.

Campaign Researcher
We are looking for people with prior research and/or strategic campaign experience in a union or similar setting. Staff will be responsible for compiling information on industries, companies, individuals and other topics in support of the Organizing Program.

Lead Organizer
We are looking for people with prior supervisory experience to work on our Nurse, Health Systems, MH/MR and Long Term Care Organizing Programs. Must have excellent communications skills, ability to work irregular hours, and be able to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Positions are based in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Harrisburg and other locations in Pennsylvania, with statewide travel required. This position may require relocation (within Pennsylvania) for significant amounts of time.

Organizer

Prior experience in union organizing, union representation, and/or contract negotiations is required. These positions are based in Southwestern & Northeastern Pennsylvania, and potentially other locations around the state.
