Other Opportunities
TechShop Testers!

Looking for volunteers to help us ensure our lesson plans have enough details for new volunteers to use with ease. Volunteers will choose a topic they have some background knowledge on, but are *not* an expert in. They will run through (‘test’) the lesson plan at home and complete all student activities listed. Lastly, they will make note and notify us of any areas they had difficultly following or where more direction is needed. Volunteer by emailing [email protected] and putting “techshop tester” in the subject header.

TechGirlz is a Philadelphia-based 501(c)3 nonprofit inspires middle school girls to explore the possibilities of technology to empower their future careers. Founder Tracey Welson-Rossman notes that ‘girls are self-selecting out of technology around ninth grade’, so all of TechGirlz workshops and events are targeted towards engaging girls in grades 6, 7, & 8.
