Mighty Tutors
For Philadelphia students ages 7 to 17
Mon., 4:00-6:00pm
Oct. 3, 2016 – June 5, 2017 (ongoing)
This workshop will take place at 3861 Lancaster Ave
We’ve gotten so many calls for tutoring that we’ve decided to answer your call! Sign up or drop-in from now until June, when Mighty Writers West opens their doors on Monday afternoons between the hours of 4-6pm for the “Mighty Writing Center.” Bring in an essay you are working on and we’ll help you perfect it. Just in need of general assistance with writing, come in and sit with a volunteer to discuss your journey. Whatever your writing needs are, be sure to bring them to us!!
Cursive Writers Club
For Philadelphia students ages 8 to 11
Wednesday, 4:00-6:00pm
Jan. 11-June 7, 2017 (ongoing)
This workshop will take place at 3861 Lancaster Ave
Because we have had such a high demand for cursive help, we did it for you. Bring your young ones to the Cursive Writers Club to learn not only how to write, but what cursive is used for and why it’s important. Bet you didn’t learn cursive the we teach it! Instructor: Khalia Robinson
Spring into Poetry
For Philadelphia students ages 10 to 14

This workshop will take place at 3861 Lancaster Ave
April is National Poetry Month! Celebrate with us as we go on a poetry journey. In this workshop, we’ll explore poetry styles, learn about famous poems and write poetry for the earth.
Real News Makers
For Philadelphia students ages 9 to 13

We just couldn’t get enough of finding the fake news and front-lining it! Now, we continue our journalism journey with Checkology!, a fun online resource that teaches us the tricks of the trade. Answer questions, earn points, move-up levels, and unlock tools of productivity! I can’t wait to read your articles. Instructor: Christina Rissell
Mighty Webmasters
For Philadelphia students ages 10 to 17
Thursday, 6:00-8:00pm
March 30 – June 7 (12 sessions)
This workshop will take place at 3861 Lancaster Ave
Do you love computers? Do you want to build your own website? How about learning about all the cool computer jobs available? In the age of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), computer knowledge is essential to a child’s learning. Thanks to the great people at Coded by Kids, by the end of the workshop, students will have the tools to start their own startup tech biz. How awesome is that?! Instructor: Arthur Spector
Girl Power Voices
For Philadelphia students ages 13 to 15
Wednesdays, 6:00-7:30pm
Apr. 19, 26; May 2, 10 (four sessions)
This workshop will take place at 3861 Lancaster Ave
Let’s raise our girl power voices. We’ll start by reading poetry, essays and speeches of leaders like Maya Angelou, Margaret Atwood, Maxine Hong Kingston & Audre Lorde. Then, we’ll find our own girl power voices, on the page and in front of the crowd. Facilitator: Meg Pendoley
Old Kids on the Block
For Philadelphia students ages 13 to 17
Wednesday, 2:00-4:00pm
Mar. 13 to June 8 (ongoing)
This workshop will take place at 3861 Lancaster Ave
Are you a high-schooler with a half-day on Wednesdays? Do you have personal projects like resume, artist statements or short stories that you need assistance with? Come join some of our veteran Mighty Writers and other High Schoolers as we write our plan and plan fun teen events. Hope to see you there!
