Greensgrow Farms, established in 1997, is an urban farm in the heart of Philadelphia specializing in growing food, flowers and neighborhoods. We are a diverse operation with many programs related to farming and local food. We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals who are interested in joining the Greensgrow family as a team player. The following positions are available in our Garden Center at our Kensington location during the upcoming season:
Greensgrow Farms General Laborer
- Valid driver’s license required
- Excellent customer service
- Strong communications skills with both customers and team members
- Prioritizes a clean and safe work environment
- Ability to load and unload plant material and lift 50lbs consistently
- Works under the supervision of senior staff members
- Tasks include: watering, weeding, flower and plant maintenance, cleaning and organizing.
- Plant knowledge and the ability to do basic irrigation repairs a plus.

Greensgrow Farms Cashier/Sales Associate
• Great customer service skills, both in person and on the phone
• Mandatory weekend shifts throughout the height of the growing season
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent retail sales skills
• Experience working with a POS system
• Completes daily, weekly and monthly tasks, as directed
• Assists Greensgrow team members with watering and other tasks, as required
• Prioritizes a clean and safe work environment
• Works under the supervision of senior staff members

Greensgrow Farms Junior Horticultural Specialist
The ideal candidate will have extensive horticultural knowledge and the ability to plan and maintain a cutting garden.
- Full time seasonal position with mandatory weekend shifts throughout the height of the growing season
- Retail experience required.
- Assists senior horticultural specialists in sales and maintenance of plant material
- Cleans and maintains plants and merchandising in the greenhouse
- Great customer skills with ability to answer gardening questions and assist customers in selecting plant material
- Prioritizes a clean and safe work environment
- Knowledge of IPM practices
- Ability to take direction from senior staff and horticultural specialist
- POS knowledge a plus
