Once attendees register, they will receive the link and call-in information.  We encourage offices with multiple people planning to participate to participate from one computer, if possible.

The U.S. Department of Education encourages state educational agencies (SEAs) and local educational agencies (LEAs) to use Title I funds to support family and community engagement as a key strategy to improve the performance of struggling schools. Under current law, at least 1% of Title I funds must be used to support parent engagement activities and research-based practices. Community schools are a vehicle through which SEAs and LEAs can increase community engagement and help align and integrate components of a comprehensive strategy to improve student achievement.

Please join us in this webinar to learn about how Title I funds can be used to support parent and community engagement activities. PTA and the Harvard Family Research Project will discuss state and district-level best practices for family engagement. Communities in Schools, First Focus, and the American Association of School Administrators will share some examples of how Title I is used in community planning, parent and family engagement, school-level planning for integration of funding streams, professional development to help school leaders and faculty with family and community engagement, student engagement, family involvement, site coordinator’s position, and more.
