NDS announces summer food for children program
When school ends, many children lose access to the nourishing meals provided during the school day. Nutritional Development Services (NDS), a sponsor of the USDA Summer Meals Program, helps fill the hunger gap by providing meals to children throughout the summer months.
For 11 weeks of the summer, NDS offers free meals to children at a variety of sites. NDS works with churches, YMCAs, Daycare centers, youth camps, neighborhood volunteers, police stations, and more! Meals include lunch and breakfast or a snack, which meet the USDA regulations for nutrients. Sites can operate for as little as one week or the entire 11 weeks.
If you are interested in serving meals to children in your community, call our office at 215-895-3470 option 1 to learn more!
